We purchased the TeamFar Baking Sheet Set so our reviewer could put it to the test in her kitchen. Keep reading for our full product review.

It wasn’t until I got to culinary school that I learned that just like water and oil don’t mix, neither do aluminum and acid. I hadn’t realized that my classic aluminum pans had their limit—and that limit was acidic foods. Tomatoes, white wine, and lemons all needed to be reserved for a stoneware baking dish.

But, then came along the TeamFar Baking Sheet Set offering another alternative. Rather than being made with aluminum, these baking sheets are made with nonreactive stainless steel. Translation: they can handle it all. So, I put them to the test to see how well they performed.

Keep reading for my honest thoughts.

Design: Sleek

Aside from its sleek mirrored finish, the TeamFar baking sheets have a highly practical design. Unlike most baking sheets that have slanted edges, the TeamFar baking sheet has straight edges, making it great for baking and roasting larger foods that may have more liquid. At the same time, its upright edges may make it more difficult to maneuver food off of the sheet tray with a spatula. Because of this, the TeamFar baking sheet is not the best choice for baking things like cookies.

Another thing I like about these baking sheets is that they have smooth rolled edges that make them easy to transfer in and out of the oven. They also stack well and, as a result, are easy to store in cabinets or under the oven.

One caveat is that they are about 2 inches smaller than standard half baking sheets, so they have a smaller surface area and your silicone mats may be too big. They also are much heavier than some of the other baking sheets I tested.

Just like your stainless steel pots and pans, these baking sheets shouldn’t rust or oxidize—even if you’re using them to roast tomatoes or bake a lemon-infused fish.

Material: Durable stainless steel

Made from 18/0 stainless steel, the TeamFar baking sheets have more benefits aside from their sleek mirrored finish. Unlike traditional aluminum baking pans, these TeamFar sheet trays are nonreactive and can take on acidic foods, like tomatoes, citrus, or vinegar. Just like your stainless steel pots and pans, these baking sheets shouldn’t rust or oxidize—even if you’re using them to roast tomatoes or bake a lemon-infused fish. Another added benefit to stainless steel is that it is dishwasher safe and much more durable.

Cooking Performance: Not that great

When it came to performance, the TeamFar baking trays were unfortunately lacking. As I had expected, they weren’t great for baking. Cookies came out too dark on the bottom and were difficult to remove given the deep sides. The baking sheets were better for vegetables but still not nearly as good as traditional aluminum. The vegetables barely caramelized and didn’t get as crisp. As many reviewers reported, the baking sheets warped at higher temperatures.

While I had high hopes for the TeamFar baking sheets, I personally won’t be using them as my go-to trays. They’re great for cooking with acids since they’re made from stainless steel and for more liquid dishes since the tray’s walls have extra height. If you don’t own a baking dish, the TeamFar trays would come in handy for acid-forward dishes, like the famous TikTok baked feta pasta.

Cleaning: Straightforward and easy

It was easy to clean the TeamFar baking sheets. Some online reviewers reported that they experienced some staining with their baking sheets after cooking, but I didn’t have that problem. Since most of the food was released easily, few areas had any stains. Those that did, rinsed right off with hardly any elbow grease.

Another thing I liked about the TeamFar baking sheets is that they’re also dishwasher-safe. Since these pans are smaller than a standard half sheet tray, I actually didn’t mind having them in the dishwasher since they took up less space.

Price: Expensive and not worth it

The TeamFar baking sheet set usually retails between $40 and $45 for two pans. At a price point not too far off from other options, I wouldn’t pull the trigger on a TeamFar pan.

Competition: You've got options

Nordic Ware Naturals Baker's Half Sheet: The Nordic Ware half sheets are your classic aluminum sheet tray. They’re heavy-duty, but they can’t take on acidic foods like the TeamFar sheets.

OXO Good Grips Non-Stick Pro Half Sheet Pan: If your budget allows it, the OXO half sheet pans outperform the TeamFar baking sheets every time. They conduct heat better and are non-reactive to acid because of their non-stick coating.

Final Verdict

Skip it.

The TeamFar Baking Sheet Set was underwhelming. There weren’t any areas where they performed exceptionally well, but if price and weight are huge factors, then you might enjoy working with them.
