Whether you’re a football fan or you’re just in it for commercials, most folks who tune into the Super Bowl can agree: The food is a crucial part of the day. Tailgating events have moved into our living rooms over the last couple of years, and we love the creativity that allows us in the kitchen. Being close to your oven and the action on the television encourages you to try new recipes, whether they’re for a crowd or just you and your watch buddy. But one food item is a staple of every Super Bowl, and that’s the dip.

Because it’s important to really nail this dish (those chips deserve a little action, too), Google has released the top uniquely searched dip recipes by state. We weren’t surprised about the overall winner: Buffalo Chicken Dip dominated in the trends, topping the list for 20 states, total. We can’t argue with those numbers or those flavors. After all, here at Spruce Eats, we’re big Buffalo Chicken fans. Need proof? We’ve got recipes for Instant Pot Buffalo Chicken Dip, a classic slow cooker Buffalo Chicken Dip, and an oven-baked version, too. There were a few surprises in Google’s report, though; we never saw Oklahoma’s search results coming.

We’ve compiled our favorite tortilla chip brands in this list, but you could also make your own chips (and even eliminate some of the oil and salt for healthier versions). Finally, you’ll need a great platter for serving it all—here are 9 winning picks.
